Message from President Hjh Noorul Intan Mohamed Ridzuwan

Dear Distinguished Guests, Fellow Rotarians , Family and Friends of Rotary,
Your are most welcome to the Installation Luncheon of our 84th President and the Board of Directors.
Thank you for electing me as your Club President. I am so honored to be elected as 84th President of this very prestigious volunteer organization, the Rotary Club of Taiping for the term 2019/2020.
Thank you to all the members for your trust and confidence in me to take up the important role.
I am so very excited about the upcoming year!
In  2018, I joined the Rotary Club of Taiping with limited knowledge of what being a Rotarian meant. Despite of the fact my late father was a Rotarian too !
I knew Rotary was a group of business people that had a weekly lunch meeting, that the programs were interesting and fun.
It didn't take long to learn about the many wonderful things Rotary International has accomplished. From polio vaccines to projects all over the world designed to improve the quality of life for others, Rotary has an incredible history of taking on amazing projects.

The 2019-2020 Rotary International theme is "Rotary Connects The World". I absolutely love that theme because it is time as for us to connect each other. This theme promotes us to strengthen the many ways that Rotary Connects the World, building the connections that allow talented, thoughtful, and generous people to unite and take meaningful action through Rotary service.
I choose to be part of the Rotary because I love to help others, I love to share ideas and I love to surround myself with these kind of people that we have in Rotary. Because for me there is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.
I want to share a few of my goals for the coming year: I want our club to continue to do work that helps local children and local community,  to continue to provide interesting and informative programs every month; and I want our members to continue having fun. As well to promote a healthy lifestyle in few upcoming projects.
I have to say thanks to all our wonderful members for making each year in Rotary so productive and fun. Be clear that it's you the club members that make this all possible. Way to go Rotary Club of Taiping! Keep attending, keep going to happy hour, keep up the momentum with new members. Get involved on a committee! I truly believe you get so much out of your membership if you just give it a chance by getting involved.
And I am excited to lead  this Rotary year of 2019/ 2020. Please support me just like all of you support all the Past Presidents for the past 83 years. I am so grateful for this opportunity, it was truly fun.
Of course, I would not have been able to lead Taiping Rotary Club without the support of my darling husband, Mr. Anuar Me Junus and my mom Hjh Suriah Hjh  Othman as she was once a Rotarian Ann.
And for sure, tribute and recognition must be accorded to all the Past Presidents and Board of Directors as well as the whole members of Taiping Rotary Club since the year of 1936.

Special thanks to outgoing President IPP Ken Teh Kean Seong and his team for their outstanding performance during the last term, do continue to give your guidance and support to the new Board Of Directors.
Last but not least, I would like to express my appreciation to all generous donors, advertisers, our Rotarians  and well wishers for their support and contributions to our club.
I always believe ; whatever that we give, it will come back to us better than we imagine.

Finally,  to all the New Board of Directors of Taiping Rotary Club for 2019/ 2020 let's bang our Rotary Year!

Thank you.

Yours in Rotary,

Hjh. Noorulintan Hj. Mohamed Ridzuwan, PHF.

President 2019-2020

2 July 2015
From the President's desk
First and foremost my warmest greetings and gratitude to my fellow Rotarians for the valuable support at the first meeting for RY 2015-2016 as well as the wonderful fellowship gathering that we had after the meeting in which other Rotarians joined us.

It is my sincere concern regarding the fund raising for our club activities namely the advertisements in our Souvenir Magazine and donations towards Yayasan Rotary. As a gentle reminder to our dedicated members, I am pleased to offer a good quality
T-shirt to any Rotarian who collect RM 600/- and above for our club. For members who collect RM 1,500/- and above I shall give another similar T-shirt for his Rotary Ann and a special gift will be given to those who collect a large sum.

My heartiest congratulations to our honorary Rotarians, Tengku Menteri Wan Mohd Isa bin Dato’ Haji Wan Mohd Razali and Datuk Marimuthu Nadason who will be receiving their Paul Harris Fellowships from The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International for their support and generous contribution to Rotary Club of Taiping. “Syabas” and well done to both of you and we look forward for your continued support.

I have attended two Rotary Installation Ceremonies, that were held by the Rotary Club of Songkhla, Thailand on Wednesday, 1st July 2015 and the Rotary Club of Ipoh on Sunday, 12th July 2015 at a river boat harbour in Songkhla and the Palace Restaurant, Hotel Excelsor in Ipoh respectively. PP Ling Peng Tong, his Ann, Siew Hua, PP Ang Mok Sim and my son Ong Yeow Pin accompanied me to Thailand while PP Duncan, his Ann, Mary and my son attended the Ipoh banquet. We enjoyed both the functions. The next celebration would be the Installation of our sister club, the Rotary Club of Betong, Thailand.

Our club will be organizing The Rotary Foundation Seminar on behalf of Rotary District 3300 in Taiping, Perak on Sunday 20th September 2015. I have, with the consent of our club appointed PP Teoh Kok Liang as the chairman and he is to form his committee with the President, Secretary and Assistant Governor as ex – officio members. We are confident of an enjoyable and well organized Seminar for all Rotarians who attend this function

Let us all join hands and work together for the betterment of this esteemed club so that we can Be a gift to the World.

FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK

7 July 2015

First and foremost I extend my warmest greetings to all members of the Rotary Club of Taiping.

As you are aware, our esteemed club would be 80 years old next year and this event would be a grand one in the hope that we would celebrate graciously and above all to carry out some major service projects which would hold our club in good stead. An organization can only function through the initiative, commitment and dedication of its members. I am pleased to note that the Rotary Club of Taiping has a good track record of the service projects carried out and it is my fervent wish that this good record be maintained or further improved.

Having said that, I am extremely grateful to the members of the Rotary Club of Taiping for choosing me as the President to lead your esteemed club. In this regard I am confident and hold great trust in all of you to give your fullest support in all aspects to ensure the continued glory of the club.

It is my dream to be able to unite our Rotarians to enable us to have better fellowship and carry out beneficial service projects, as reflected in the Rotary International Theme for this year ‘Be a Gift to the World’

A President can only ensure the success of the club with the support, encouragement and assistance of its members. I therefore call upon my fellow members to give me your undivided support, whether it is for fellowship or service projects. Through our concerted efforts we can surely make a difference of which we would be proud of.

As most of the Rotarians in District 3300 are aware, we sincerely hope to Charter a Bi-lingual Rotary Club to introduce this Service Organization to the non-English speaking group. We have initiated the move for this and God willing, this new club is expected to be incorporated in a few months time. We look forward to welcome the members of this new club to a world of Fellowship and Service which knows no bounds.

Once again I thank all the members and hope that you would participate actively in the fellowship and service projects of the club. May God bless all of you and your dear families and I look forward to meeting all of you on a regular basis in the near future.

President Ong Hean Hai
RY 2015-2016

Sunday 7th of July 2013

was indeed a very auspicious day for the Rotary Club of Taiping. It marked the installation of the 78th president of the prestigious Club ..Much effort had been put in the preparation of this event with the personal charge of the President.   The function was a run away success.
The atmosphere in the hall was electrifying with each Rotarian keeping himself busy receiving the guests. Just before 8.00 pm all guests were  seated and  they were all very busy chit chatting with each other and catching with their friends. The hall was packed to capacity and all the tables were decked with bottles of liquor mainly the generosity of the president .
Just before 8.00 pm the guest of honour arrived and the first phase of the function began ,that is taking of the group photo with the DG, guest of Honour, Dato Marimuthu and all Rotarians who were dressed, (some said in mat rempits)   in their beast ,something different from the usual . Complements of the president (The President dared to be different this year.)
The MC Rtn . Tang Yuet Mun then announced in a thunderous voice the arrival of the guest of honour and all Rotarians and the guests gave him a warm welcome.
The MC began the function in the usual preliminaries which was followed by the three toasts. Shortly after the dinner commenced and during the dinner the guests were entertained to some oldies rock and roll music played by the specially invited band. They did not disappoint the crowd. During this period the guests were also entertained to dances in which the some sporting  rotary Anns also participated.
Then came the sawn song speech of the out going President Dinah Redmond who thanked all the Rotarians as well as her board members for the success of her presidency and recognized them by giving away the lovely souvenirs.
Then came the moment when the incoming president was installed by the out going president. The poor incoming president had to literally bend over for the delicate out going president to place the jewel around his neck. He then gave his inaugural speech and out lined his plans for his coming term. He then installed his board of Directors.
He then installed PP Dinah Redmond with  the Past Presidents jewel.
A community project was carried out where a recipient was given an artificial leg to an amputee who had suffered from diabetes. This was done by the guest of honour Dato Marimuthu ,who had donated Rm 5,000 towards the purchase of the artificial limb.
The crowd were enjoying their sumptuous dinner and the drinks as well as the lovely music. Some guests and Rotarians were so captivated by the music that they did not hesitate to take the dance floor.
The final item on the agenda was the speech of the District Governor, Dato Dr Mahinder Singh.
The night was still young and so did the Rotarians think they were back in the fifty’s. They let their hair down ( or  what was  scarcely left on their  head)
The function was over by about 11.30 pm and it was a function to remember. Carefree, free for all, entertaining, and meaningful.

25 August 2013

Greetings Rotarians,

Another week has gone by with another project successfully carried out by my excellent team.
The ILTS was organised with such expertise that it went on without any glitches.  Some Past Presidents messaged me congratulating  me on the success and I only had one thing to say to them " the credit goes to my team comprising off PP Yeap, PP Ling, PP Joseph Lau and Rtn Paul Loh.

Rtn Paul Loh needs special mention because being the person that he is in the society,  his humbleness is beyond compare.
We are slowly  getting into gear and soon our community projects will start once all the grants we applied for gets approved.

Rotarians please come forth with worthy projects we can carry out . 34 minds are naturally better than 12.
Lets end my second month as president with a nice fellowship tonight.

Cheers.
